Lockdown reading

The coronavirus, social distancing and self-quaratine disrupts the everyday life for most of us these days. And as many countries have closed their borders, shut down schools and businesses, the changes for many will be long lasting. I’m very lucky since my job allows me to work from home, and lockdown also gives a lot of free time for reading.

Being an introvert in a situation like this is good I think, as I’m hearing that others struggle with the isolation. But being able to work, my dog and having books to read sure does help.

I’m loving all the support I see in different communities, and especially in the author/reader community. Lots of authors have put their hard work up for serious discounts or for free, and I’m really loving what Kristen Ashley did on her Facebook page. Actually writing a book and involving her readers by putting up polls about names, places etc and letting them read the story as it is written. And I can’t wait to read the finished book 🙂

My lockdown reading so far
  • I’ve done a lot of re-reading of old favorites from C.M. Owens, Kristin Ashley, Brandon Sanderson and Anne Bishop
  • Finally started the Rebel Wayfarers series by MariaLisa deMora. Not sure why I didn’t pick this up earlier, but I suspect it is because I really don’t like the h in the first book. But a bingeread is now in my imediate future 😉

  • Lani Lynn Vale – Chute Yeah
  • Patricia Briggs – Smoke Bitten

Hope you all stay safe, and be smart – keep your distance and follow all guidelines from health officials!
