What I read this week

I read a few books this week .. who am I kidding .. I always read, but I thought I’d mention some of them here this time. So in no particular order:

Doc T by Skye McNeil

I think this was my first book by this author, and since I love MC books I thought I’d give it a go. For the most part it was a ok, I kinda liked the characters and the “worldbuilding”. But there were just one too many unresolved issues/situations with the “nymphs”. I get it .. it’s a MC story (stereotypes), creates drama etc .. but when you create situations and something “almost” happen – you have to resolve and explain as well. For me, the female lead just came across as desperate after those times, and the H never explained himself or the situations. It just ruined what could have been a great book for me. I’ll still pick up the next book in the series when it’s out I think, since I want to see what happens next.

All Rhodes Lead Here by Mariana Zapata

I have to say that this is one of my favorite authors, and I have read every book. So I have high expectations every time I see a new release.

But omg, this book!! I don’t even have any words. It is a Zapata book, but at the same time so different and I literally could not put it down. I just had to finish it, but at the same time I never wanted it to end. This might be the best book she’s ever written, it’s certainly my new favorite and one I’ll probably re-read a thousand times.

I also hope that we’ll see more of Pagosa Springs and some of the characters in future books.

Jinx by Nicole James (Cerberus MC)

This one I really liked and enjoyed. Jinx has been one of those characters I thought would never settle down without a fight. Glad to be proven wrong. He met, he fell and he conquered. It’s always nice to read a story where the H is the one falling head first and doing all the chasing. I think I’ve read every book in this series, and I gotta say this is my favorite at the moment.

Wild Sign by Patricia Briggs

Books by this author is a automatic buy for me, and both her series are on my favorite re-read list as well. I love the pace in the Alpha and Omega series, the writing is great and for every book we just get to know the characters in the Marroks pack a little bit better. We also get a few glimpses of what’s happening in other parts (Mercy) as well, but it doesn’t always follow the same timeline. This book is full of surprises, and that ending almost had me climbing the wall. But the biggest of them all is Leah. I never thought that would be a character I would feel any sympathy for, but here we are, and I hope we see more of her and Bran’s relationship in future books. This book should come with a trigger warning though, since it deals with a lot of heavy stuff.

The Woman in the Scope (Grassi Family book 2) by Jessica Gadziala

I really love a good mafia story, and this one I really enjoyed. It was fast paced, had great characters and was hard to put down. Gotta say though, I kinda want Brio’s story now. It has to be someone pretty special to take all that on.
